1.3 Quick Start Installation of the 9135/9140 Switch

The initial setup of your EdgeAccess 9135 Two-Port or 9140 Four-Port Switch (9135/9140) involves four

stages:

•

Selecting the location for the 9135 or 9140 Switch

• Configuring the interface modules

• Connections for a selected application

• Management connection and operation

Step 1 Unpack the Switch and determine the best method of installation for your unit; stand alone, rack

mount, or wall mount. Refer to chapter 4 for detailed unpacking instructions and mounting

considerations.

Step 2 With the 9135 or 9140 securely in place, plug the supplied power cord, female end, into the power

entry module on the rear of the unit (see Figure 1-3). Plug the male end of the cord into an AC

outlet. Turn on the power switch located on the power entry module.
